The goal of Appalachian Community Health Services (ACHS) is to provide quality homemaking and personal care services to assist clients in continuing to live safely and comfortably in their own homes.

Services Offered

ACHS Certified Home Care Aides are trained to assist clients with various homemaking and personal care tasks. Duties frequently performed by Home Care Aides include:

Homemaking

  • Meal Preparation
  • Light Housekeeping
  • Correspondence
  • Light Yard work
  • Transportation
  • Errands
  • Laundry
  • Pet Care
  • Banking

Personal Care

  • Bathing
  • Toileting
  • Shaving
  • Shampooing
  • Nail Care
  • Feeding
  • Vital Signs
  • Simple Treatments
  • Assisting with Medications

Other Services Available

All Home Care Aides are carefully screened, bonded and supervised by a team of professional office and field staff. ACHS handles all aspects of employee payment, including contributions to Social Security, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, Federal, State and local taxes.

Affordable, Flexible Care

Shifts are available from intermittent to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Any combination of service options is available to meet a client's individual needs.

ACHS is a self-supported, fee-for-service program. Payment sources include, but are not limited to, private pay, private insurance, Veteran's Benefits and Workers' Compensation.
